PHASE — APP STORE SCREENSHOTS — PROP ASSET 2 OF 2: THE SUN
Target: Prop · Sun symbol, phases.sketch, page _Art Sources
Used on screens 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 (rising -> dominant -> small high glow)
Generate this together with moon.txt, in the SAME session, before accepting either.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
POSITIVE PROMPT (copy everything between the lines)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A single perfectly spherical sun floating in empty space, isolated on a fully transparent background.

Surface: warm and emissive but soft — glowing frosted glass or backlit alabaster. Smooth, with gently uneven internal luminosity. Explicitly NOT a fireball: no flames, no plasma churn, no solar granulation, no sunspots.

Lighting: radiance from within, brightest toward the upper right where a large soft key light also falls. The lower left falls into a deep warm terminator that stays luminous and never goes dark. A tight warm rim light traces the upper-right edge.

Colour: near-white warm core (#FFF6E4), through soft apricot (#FFE0AE to #FFB067), to deep amber at the lower left (#F08A45 to #D9702F).

Framing: centered, sphere fills the frame edge to edge, square composition.

Studio product render, soft global illumination, subtle film grain, 8k.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NEGATIVE PROMPT (paste into the negative / exclude field)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

flames, fire, plasma, solar flare, corona, sun rays, light rays, god rays, starburst, lens flare, sunspots, solar granulation, harsh contrast, gloss, chrome, metallic, reflective, face, eyes, cartoon character, sunglasses, sky, clouds, landscape, horizon, ground plane, drop shadow, vignette, frame, border, text, watermark, signature, multiple suns

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MIDJOURNEY v7 SINGLE-LINE VARIANT (no alpha — generate on black, key it after)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A single perfectly spherical sun isolated on a pure flat black background, warm emissive surface like glowing frosted glass or backlit alabaster with gently uneven internal luminosity, not a fireball and with no flames or plasma texture, lit by one large soft key light from the upper right, brightest toward the upper right and falling into a deep warm luminous terminator at the lower left that never goes dark, tight warm rim light on the upper-right edge, near-white warm core through soft apricot to deep amber, centered, sphere filling the frame, studio product render, soft global illumination, subtle film grain --ar 1:1 --style raw --stylize 150 --no flames, plasma, corona, rays, flare, chrome, sky, text, face

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OUTPUT SPEC
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Format PNG, straight alpha, no matte
Size 2048 x 2048 minimum (renders at 420–620 pt; this gives 3x headroom)
Framing CROP TIGHT — the sphere must touch all four edges of the square
Background Fully transparent. No drop shadow, no vignette, no ground plane
Glow DO NOT bake a wide bloom. A tight rim/atmosphere at the very edge
is fine. The Sketch symbol carries its bloom as two editable
radial-gradient layers (Bloom Outer, Bloom Inner) and they must
stay editable — screens 5 and 7 sit on light backgrounds where a
baked bloom would wash out the copy with no way to dial it back.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
THE ONE RULE THAT MATTERS
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The moon and the sun share ONE light source: a large soft key from the UPPER
RIGHT. Both terminators therefore fall to the LOWER LEFT.

This is the only thing that makes eight screenshots read as one photographed
world instead of eight stock images. If you generate the two props in separate
sessions and the light disagrees, the set is broken and colour-grading will not
save it.

The lighting sentences in this file and in moon.txt are WORD FOR WORD identical
on purpose. Only the colour and material sentences differ. Keep it that way.

Note the sun is doing two things at once: it is emissive AND it is lit by the
same key. That is deliberate. A purely self-lit sphere has no terminator, and
without a terminator it will not match the moon.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ACCEPT / REJECT CHECKLIST (hold the moon and sun side by side)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[ ] Terminator falls LOWER LEFT on both props
[ ] No specular hotspot on either (that implies a second, harder light)
[ ] Sun's shadow side is still luminous — a dark sun reads as a planet
[ ] Alpha edge clean at 300% zoom: no white or black halo, no leftover matte
[ ] Sphere is circular, not an ellipse
[ ] Nothing baked in: no shadow, no glow ring, no rays, no background wash
[ ] Moon reads cool, sun reads warm, and both look like the same material
    under the same lamp

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
INSTALLING IT
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The symbol is already wired. Replacing the artwork updates every instance on
every screen and every locale page at once.

Prop · Sun is a 620 x 620 symbol master on the _Art Sources page. Inside it the
sphere body occupies exactly x100 y100, 420 x 420. The surrounding 100 pt is
the bloom's breathing room.

1. Open the Prop · Sun symbol master.
2. Delete the layers Body and Rim Light.
KEEP the layers Bloom Outer and Bloom Inner.
3. Place the PNG and set its frame to exactly x 100, y 100, w 420, h 420.
4. Name it: IMG · Prop Body
5. Confirm the master's background is still off (includedInInstance: false).
Sketch inherits an opaque white artboard background when a frame becomes a
symbol, and it ships a white box behind the prop into every instance.
6. Tune Bloom Outer and Bloom Inner against the new render. Current values were
   tuned to a vector body.

THEN RE-RUN THE CONTRAST CHECK on every screen the sun appears on. Screens 5–8
run on light backgrounds (#F0C9A0 through #FFFFFF) with near-black copy, which
is the opposite failure mode to the night screens: there, a bright bloom eats
the contrast from below. Method: hide the Copy and Annotation groups, render the
frame, and sample the text regions on that backdrop. Sampling a region that
still contains its own glyphs just returns the glyph colour. Target: every text
region at 97% or more of pixels meeting 7:1.

TOOL NOTES
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Recraft V3 first choice — native transparent PNG, built for isolated objects
gpt-image-1 strong second — background: "transparent", best prompt adherence
Flux 1.1 Pro best material quality; alpha via LayerDiffuse LoRA or key it after
Midjourney v7 best aesthetics, no alpha — use the single-line variant above

Transparency support and feature names move quickly in all of these. Check the
current docs before assuming a flag exists.

The sun is the harder of the two to get right — every model is heavily biased
toward fireballs, coronas and lens flare. Expect to iterate more here than on
the moon, and lean hard on the negative prompt. If it will not stop making
flames, generate it as "a glowing frosted glass sphere" or "a backlit alabaster
sphere" and drop the word sun entirely — the colour spec carries the meaning.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FIELD NOTE (2026-08-12)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

gpt-image-1 delivered this prop at 1024 x 1536 with the sphere INSET and padded,
not tight-cropped, despite the framing instruction above. Expect to crop.

Recipe used: threshold alpha > 40, take the bounding box, expand to a square
centred on it, resample to 1260 x 1260 with Lanczos. Then place at x 100, y 100,
420 x 420 inside the symbol master.
